CompuAdd 325tx HELP 'missing operating system' msg
(too old to reply)

I have inherited a CompuAdd 325tx (1990) via a layoff at work, no disks
or manuals, was able to reformat HD and build DOS/windows BUT ..
only able to boot from floppy, then use C: normally. If boot from HD,
I always get msg 'missing operating system' with no return at msg end,
and hangs.
My guess is something special is necessary, but can't guess what. If anyone
has ever seen this msg on a CompuAdd laptop, please reply or post.
Thanks in advance,
Grant

So interestingly, 22 years later, I have acquired a CompuAdd myself and have encountered the same issue

Perhaps it only boots from a specific partition regardless of
the "bootable" flag. Or maybe it needs a special proprietary
Master Boot Record format. Is the HDD configured peoperly
in the BIOS (assuming that the settings can be modified)?

Just some guesses.
