Hello All
Said laptop is a bit slow, so I have upgrade the memory to 2x 2GB.
What puzzles me, is that when I look in the system specifications, only
about 750 MB is used.
I cannot find anything relating to that in the BIOS settings
Anyone any idea on what this could be, and how to make the whole memory
available?

What version of windows are you using, and is it 32 bit or 64 bit? 32 bit versions of the OS may be limited in how much memory they use.

I don't know what you mean by slow - compared to what, under what conditions and whether the machine has always been that slow. Your laptop is not built for speed, and RAM probably won't change that.

I'm (well, my wife) using Windows Vista, 32 bit.
The reason I bought more memory, was because the system is constantly
swapping pages in and out, so I hoped more memory would help.
However, there is more to it. I replaced the original memory, and I still
have only 750 MB....

You might want to try this and see what's using up your memory...it works better than the built-in process manager. From what I know/heard, 32-bit should be able to utilize about 3.25Gb!
